Fishing operations
We at Samherji practice responsible fisheries and consider it a collaborative effort throughout the company, from both management and employees. Samherji's aim is to work in harmony with the environment, promote the sustainable utilisation of fish stocks, and treat the resources with respect. It is necessary to meet today‘s requirements with these values as a guiding principle. Therefore, Samherji’s aim is to leave the marine ecosystem in equal or better condition for future generations.
All of Samherji's vessels are operated in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, with the aim of sustainable and responsible utilisation of marine resources, and adhere to strict standards for product quality and handling.
The composition of the fishing fleet varies somewhat from year to year due to a strong emphasis on technical development and operational efficiency. Additionally, creating a safe and supportive working environment for the crews is a key priority.
