The operations of Samherji hf. were profitable by 603 million ISK the first six months of the year 2003. Profit before depreciation and financial expenses (EBITDA) was 1.201 million ISK which is 19,2% of the revenue. Net cash provided by operating activities was 834 million ISK.

Samherji hf. was profitable by 580 million ISK the first 3 months of the year 2003.  Profit before depreciation and financial expenses (EBITDA) was  685 million ISK, or 21% of the operating revenue.

Samherji hf. took part in the European Seafood Exhibition 2003 in Brussels last week.

The President of Iceland Mr. Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, rewarded Samherji hf.  The president of Iceland´s award for export achievement in a ceremony at Bessastaðir yesterday. Thorsteinn Mar Baldvinsson, Director of Samherji accepted the award on the company´s behalf.

Thorsteinn Már Baldvinsson, Director of Samherji Ltd., introduced the budget for the year 2003, in the Shareholders Annual meeting which was held last Thursday.

Samherji´s Annual meeting will be held Thursday 3rd April in Nýja bíó, Akureyri at 15.00.  The Company´s Board of Directors will propose a  20% dividend to stockholders for the year 2002. The Financial statement for 2002 is here
